Currently, there are no accurate records to confirm the number of Indigenous women who have gone missing in the US and Canada, but according to the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women, four out of five Native women are affected by violence in their lifetimes. The cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women number in the thousands.
This guide is intended to bring awareness to the cause of #MMIW; I hope to amplify the voices of the brave women and others working to find, protect, and support Indigenous women and girls.
